After marriage they set out for Australia but cholera broke out on board and the ship was refused permission to dock,so had no option but to return to the UK. Shortly afterwareds Thomas and Angelina sailed for America arriving in Peoria, Illinois, USA in June 1857, where Thomas had two brothers living. They had seven children.'
