In 1942, he received his wings and became a lieutanent. He went to Savannah GA to train as a dive bomber pilot. He was an instructor in teh 84th Bombardment Group. He was stationed at Drew Field, Miami, FL, at the time of his death.

BiographyNancy Larsen, the great granddaughter of George and Martha Hauser, was born in 1942 and grew up on a farm in Iowa. In 1960, she entered the U.S. Navy, where she trained as a medical technologist. After discharge, she moved to Texas and took a position in a Dallas area blood bank, where she worked for over 40 years until her retirement in 2007. Her Mother, Ruth Hauser Larsen, salvaged stacks of old family records, and after years of storage, Nancy decided to take a look. Thus began the exciting and heart-warming adventure, the creation of ‘The Soft Wind Whispers’.
