Notes for Benjamin (2) GREEN
The WPA record, 1219, the source of this information has been largely discredited because:
- The WPA record specifies that Benjamin Green was buried 19 January 1817 in grave no. 117 of the Col. Enoch Avery Burying Ground in Poundridge., NY, but no such individual islisted in that burial ground 1220 1221.
- The WPA record specifies a birth date of 1746 and a death date of 17 Jan 1817 - these are birth dates of Sarah, the wife of Benjamin (1) Green.
However, there is a Benjamin Green with a similar life span (ca1741 - 1812), honored as a Revolutionary War soldier,1078 buried in the Avery/Green cemetery nearby 1220, see Benjamin (1) Green.
The WPA source gives the following information for military service. This has not been verified.Veteran of Revolutionary War, rank of Captain in 4th Reg., Westchester Co. Militia. 1219 Also served as Lt. Col in 3rd Reg., Westchester Co. Militia. 1219
