“Myrtilla was educated locally, at Blair Academy and at Wellesly College. She taught languages at the Lacrosse, EIS High School and at Albany Girls School. She was director of Farnsworth Art Museum at Wellesley College for 25 years. She was the author of two books on art, and was a member of the Medieval Academy of America and the Archeological Institute of America. Dr. Myrilla Avery held degrees from Wellesley, the University of the State of New York and Radcliffe. Unm,arried, she died at her home, 425 West 23rd St., New York City, at 90. “
