“WAR HERO IS CHARGED WITH THEFT OF AUTO, New Comerstown O, Oct 23 - James Maneilly, 24, Canton veteran who talked the mayor of Breckenheim, Germany into surrenedering his town, today was freed under $5,000 bond after he was bound over to the grand jury on a charge of auto theft.

Maneilly entered a plea of guilty when he appeared before Mayor Ellis Bartholew here yesterday

Mayor Bartholew said Maneilly stole the car of a man who had given him a ride Sunday and was taken into custody when he attempted to hold up a gas station attendant in neighboring Guernsey county.”
